Thunderbolts dominate scoring in NWO event. Thunderbolts hosted the Northwestern Ontario Long Course Swim Meet the weekend of January 27-28, 2024. The home team dominated the meet with a score of 1228 total points, which is almost three times higher than the next best team. The event takes place annually at the Bolts hometown pool, the Canada Games Complex, and welcomed other teams and their athletes from around the area. This past weekend over 800 swimmers from around Ontario and Eastern Canada competed at the MAC Winter Invitational. There were 24 swimmers from Thunder Bay qualified to compete and from those came an impressive 6th place (women's) and 13th place (men's) out of the twenty-nine teams in attendance. Early this month, the Thunder Bay Thunderbolts travelled to Winnipeg to compete against teams from Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario. The Thunderbolts did not disappoint - having multiple swimmers qualify for finals and reach the podium.
