Thunderbolts shine at two major swimming events!

Congratulations to our local Thunderbolt swim team on their outstanding performance! Winning lots of medals at two major swimming competitions, a remarkable achievement and a testament to their hard work, dedication, and talent. It's a proud moment for the Bolts, their coaches, and the community as they came home from both the Winter Ontario Youth-Junior Championships hosted by the Markham Aquatic Club February 15thto the 18th and Winter Ontario Festival Championships hosted by the Etobicoke Swim Club February 17th and 18th

At the Ontario Festival, Taylor Brown, Jack Dennis, and Eloise Rose-Weston pushed themselves to new heights all coming home with personal bests. Brown excelled in both the 200 and 400 Freestyle event, Dennis taking the podiums in 400IM, 200 Fly, and various freestyle events and Eloise finishing strong in the 400 Free.

The OYJ competition showcased remarkable talent with standout performances from Abbi Brown, who claimed 1st place in the 1500 and 400 Freestyle events and secured 2nd in the 800 Free, Madeline Giardetti, earning 2nd and 3rd place finishes across the 200, 400, and 800 Freestyle events, and William Rose-Weston, clinching 1st in the 1500 Free and 2nd in the 400 and 800 Free events.

In addition to their impressive performances, it's noteworthy to mention that each of the following athletes claimed personal best times during their racing experience at both major events: Taylor Brown, Jack Dennis, Zaejan Gesta, Marco Martino, Matthieu Pagaduan, and Eloise Rose-Weston, as well as Abbi Brown, Madeline Giardetti, and William Rose-Weston. These personal bests serve as benchmarks of their dedication and improvement in their respective events, further highlighting their potential for future success in competitive swimming.

It's a moment of pride indeed for our swimmers, but their journey continues with more out-of-town racing on the horizon, followed by our local Grand Prix just around the corner in May. These upcoming events present further opportunities for our athletes to showcase their skills, test their limits, and continue their pursuit of excellence in the pool. With their dedication and determination, there's no doubt they'll make a splash wherever they go, representing our community with pride and determination.
