Regional Training Group (Ages 12 & Over)
The Regional Training Group is for swimmers aged 12 and over working towards achieving Youth Provincial and Junior Provincial standards, focusing on regional-level competitions.
1. Training Focus
- Comprehensive Program: Balance aerobic conditioning, speed work, and technical drills to develop skills, endurance, and speed for regional competitions.
- Technical Coaching: Focus on stroke mechanics, race strategies, starts, turns, and finishes with video analysis and feedback sessions.
2. Training Frequency and Commitment
- Structured Schedule: Train 7 times a week, balancing swimming with academic and personal responsibilities.
- Balanced Approach: Flexible scheduling for school events and other sports, ensuring holistic development.
3. Progression and Standards
- Achieving Standards: Regular assessments and time trials to monitor progress and set benchmarks towards achieving provincial standards.
- Transition to High Performance Group: Swimmers achieving a Provincial standard may attend one meet. Continued participation requires moving to the High Performance Training Group.
4. Season Duration and Breaks
- Season Schedule: Aligns with the club's schedule from September to July or final competition.
