High Performance Training Group (Ages 12 and Over)
This group is for swimmers pursuing Provincial or National standards and offers a high-intensity environment designed to develop competitive excellence.
1. Training Focus
- Balanced Commitment: Athletes may participate in other activities but must demonstrate strong dedication and consistency
- Comprehensive Training: Includes dryland strength, cognitive race preparation, and race-pace water sessions.
2. Coaching and Communication
- Open Dialogue: Coaches maintain regular communication with swimmers, providing feedback and adjusting plans as needed
- High-Level Support: Specialized instruction, stroke correction, and race strategy planning are central to daily training.
3. Standards and Expectations
- Selective Program: Entry is based on meeting Provincial time standards or Head Coach discretion.
- Discipline and Participation: While 100% attendance is not mandatory, swimmers are strongly encouraged to attend as many practices as possible. Development and performance are closely linked to consistent participation in both training sessions and competitions.
4. Progression and Calenda
- Performance Benchmarks: Reviews are held to ensure progress toward goals and readiness for advancement.
- Competitive Commitment: Athletes compete in all meets for which they qualify.
- Season Timeline: Runs from September to July.
- Training Camps: Two annual camps enhance focus, endurance, and technical development (December and March; extra fees apply).
